Heeeeey… Does anyone out there have an Alolan Sandshrew? Ideally it would be level 1, but at this point I’m desperate.

I’m sort of attached to the idea of Sandshrew buddies (one ground, one ice) but my friend I expected to get one for me is sort of flaking out on me (though in their defense, they never agreed to do this for me in the first place, I just kinda assumed it wouldn’t be a big deal, I mean the entire reason I got Sun and you got Moon was because I assumed it wouldn’t be a big deal).

I’d really like to play through the game with an Alolan Sandshrew so if anyone out there can help I’d appreciate it.

Question Mark?

Bon-Bon: See? This is exactly what I’m talking about.
Lyra: Uh huh.
Bon-Bon: My Hobbies: I love sports. I love driving. I love taking a walk, comics, cartoons, shopping, watching movies, television, books, games, studying. Studying?! Who is going to pick studying? Music, internet, camera, videos, social networking- where is cooking?
Lyra: Yeah.
Bon-Bon: Lots of people like cooking, Lyra- it’s very popular! But driving? Taking a walk? How can you consider taking a walk a hobby?
Lyra: Iunno.
Bon-Bon: Exercise is the word you were looking for and it’s a lot more involved than taking a walk!  And watching television? That’s a pastime not a hobby. Hobbies are constructive. Photography is a hobby, music is a hobby, watching videos is not a hobby!
Lyra: Boy howdy.
Bon-Bon: Boy how- Boy howdy? Are you even listening?

Lyra: I… am building a tower… out of titanium blocks. But I need… carpet.
Bon-Bon: See? Now that’s a hobby! Work your mind! But this right here is nonsense and I for one am appalled at the very notion that-

@scientificpokedex I know I made you a song but someone inspired me to make a battle theme sooo here

I’ll have you know, @mystuffrighthereboi, I was humming this earlier today. It got me psyched up and that’s when I sent in this post! So thank you for your music!

So you find Team Science breaking into facilities and labs across [insert region] stealing equipment and kidnapping scientists. Their goal is to merge the dimensions to bring all pokemon together! To study! You find their leader who is devastated, "What?! I don't want to merge worlds together! The ecological repercussions alone would be disastrous! I just wanted to stop the spread of false science!" So you JOIN Team Science proper in order to bring about the end of the radical splinter movement.

scientificpokedex:

(continued) I think Team Science’s pokemon are primarily electricity, but they mix their teams up with pokemon that have ground resistance/immunity or pokemon with items like Air Balloons, Shuca Berries, and Enigma Berries.

I like this!!

  • Team Science recruits and educates people from all regions to properly study pokémon
  • Team Science “allegedly” hacks into pokédexes and PCs to correct bad science.
  • Team Science exposes Professor Kukui as The Masked Royal. Scandal ensues.
  • Team Science HQ is located at the particle accelerator they use to study Pokemon types (such as the psychons/fairyons discussed in Meowstic)
  • Team Science has their own IT department
  • Team Science shows trainers how to properly care for different species, creating stronger trainers and happier pokemon, going so far as to develop specialized pokéballs best for individual pokémon
  • Team Science offers a free service to remove Rotom from an infected Pokédex.

Write more Team Science headcanons in the replies if you want, I’m living for these

#241 Baby - Miltank calves are able to stand up and walk on their four legs soon after hatching; however, they have to build up their strength by drinking their mother’s nutritious milk before they are able to stand on their hind legs. Their small horn buds will show within a few days of hatching, and their growth serves as a good measurement of a Miltank maturity. Likewise, their darker fur patches will darken to black with age. Miltank will naturally begin to produce a small amount of milk once they have matured, but they will produce a much greater amount – over five gallons a day! – once they have produced their first egg. The sweet milk is packed with nutrition, and is beloved by humans and Pokemon alike.

This baby Miltank was commissioned (thank you!).

And here’s something a little less April Foolsy.

Finished my run through of Pokemon Yellow last night when I got the last TM. Now I have all the tools ready for Sun/Moon, including a Mew with Soft-Boiled.

Anyway here’s Rocket Hideout.

Hey Professors! So, I saw the ask about the move Toxic earlier, and I was wondering if you had any ideas on the move Protect? Almost every pokemon can use it, and I was going to say it could be a defensive stance that absorbs the blow in most cases, but it is always portrayed as some kind of blue wall. Would it be connected to Aura? What do yall think?

scientificpokedex:

I think you’re definitely on the right track!

image

Both in the games and in the anime, Protect is depicted as glowing blue energy of some kind that keeps the pokémon safe. The protected pokémon does not feel damage, receive status effects, and so on from being hit. And it is presumably not just a solid wall, so this tells me that the protection, the blue glow, is exceptionally good at absorbing energy

Capacitors, for example, absorb electric energy. Springs and sponges absorb kinetic (collision) energy, lessening the damage that way. Or perhaps Protect acts more like a Non-Newtonian Fluid (but more like a plasma), which becomes “solid” in the spot that they’re hit, when they’re hit.

image

So that’s what Protect is. It’s some sort of plasma, which is exceptionally good at absorbing all kinds of energy. The Aura energy, that you mentioned, is described in the pokemon world as “the essence of every living creature”. If Protect is connected to Aura, it would make sense why pokémon have so many diverse types and move. The very living essence of them is able to store all types of energy. It would also make sense why Protect loses its potency after consecutive uses. If the pokémon are using their own life energy to fuel their shield, it’s only natural they get tired.

Thanks!

-Professor Julie

This is super cool!

Spent about an hour looking for some answers regarding the 3DS versions of Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow before I did anything, so I figured I’d reveal what I found out.

Yes, you can do both the Missingno. and Mew glitches.

But, you cannot currently connect to PokeBank with R/B/Y. No one knows if you’ll be able to transfer anything generated by these glitches over.

You can still get a low level Mew to play around with in R/B/Y, but you might not be able to trade it into PokeBank/future generations.
