That’s why you’re still in Beta, silly goose.

image

1) Tomorrow, I believe. I’ll be too sick for it, though.

2) Probably either an RPG or a strategy game. Though it could have been Armored Core 2. I don’t think The Sims was out yet.

3) That is the question, isn’t it?

4) What truth about Canterlot? Since you seem to know so much, exactly what is the truth?

5) No. We’re a fairytale couple and we’ve never done anything to upset the other, ever.

The good outweighs the bad. That’s all anypony should ask for.

6) See, I never understood why assault-style weapons were legal anywhere. If personal firearms are for self-defense, when are you going to need that much stopping power?

image

1) That seems to be a theme in your world. Everypony believes history is absolute, even as stories are retold biased towards whichever country is telling them.

2) Aw. Very mysterious pair, those two. At least for how much they influenced net culture.

3) Nope. Nothin’ bad. Remember that game store? I broke into it once. Not to steal anything, I liked them too much, just to keep playing a game I was obsessing over.

So I hid myself away inside and waited until they forgot about me and left for the night. Then I picked up a controller and started playing. And I played and played and played- so engrossed that I didn’t notice the entire night had passed and they came back to open the shop for the next day! When I finally realized what was happening, they were already inside setting things up! They just kinda walked around me!

Once they realized I was out of the trance they had me help them set everything up, but I didn’t get in trouble or anything for it. They just asked that I not do it again. They were a really sweet couple. I hate that they got bought out.

Anyway, I was up for about 30-somethin’ hours, give or take.

4) I don’t like that part toward the end: “Straightened out and fixed?”

5) If anypony can find a picture of that scene from the original Dragon Ball where after being asked if he likes bacon, Oolong turns to Goku and yells, “What are you- brain dead or somethin’!?” I’d appreciate if you attached it to this post with a photo reply.

1) And I do, that’s the whole point! But if I try to answer everything when I get too many questions, I can’t keep up. I spend hours working on answers and I still just keep steadily falling further behind. I start to lose followers- and I don’t care about the number. But if the follower count goes down, that means some ponies decided I was posting too much and it was getting on their nerves- and I try to please as many ponies as I can! But, somewhere something has to give.

2) And that’s okay! That’s why I do it! I want everypony to feel important! As long as my ask box keeps a lower message count I’ll still be able to answer everything. But if it gets too high I’m going to have to start deleting messages again.

3) Suggestive directions.

4) I try to approach subjects like that as delicately as I can, but I’m not going to deny who I am or the things I’ve seen.

5) There is no emphasis that can’t be better approached with a more well thought-out explanation. Alternately, just censor that [omitted]! I’ve said a hundred times I swear when I’m just hanging out with friends, as long as no little ones are around. It’s just not something foals should be exposed to early in life.

6) I haven’t, no. Not really interested, to be honest.

7) First thing I ever played was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 for the Neightendo. Some foals I was hanging out with lead me to this little, family-owned game store where they let you play games inside!

image

1) Yes. Yes I have.

2) Oh! I got one! What if you asked an interesting “what if” question wherein the answer might have some significance?

3) You were misinformed. The only time something even remotely like that would happen is while nursing.

4) You know, I never played the original.

5) Temptation. “Hey! These 7 games, all together worth 15 bits, are selling for just 1!” Guess what? You didn’t save anything. You just spent 1 bit.

6) Not even gonna try deciphering this one.

7) Sure, sure. Plenty legal. But being successful at it has a variety of factors at work. No pony wants to hear an amateur lyre. Steel Pedal Guitar would catch folks attention. Guitar if you can sing like an angel or employ sick technique. Violin if you’ve got purpose or presence. Basically, the more contemporary the instrument, the better you gotta be.

If I could get good at sitar I’d have a shot at it, but most street performers work in Canterlot. I’d all but have to move back there.

One last one.

8) She lives here while her parents are traveling. Lyra. You tell me. What about them? I cannot. Usually duration.

1) There’s usually at least some stuff changed. The more extreme changes are typically if the game takes place on what is obviously human Earth. If so, then the setting is altered.

Some of the races are done on foot; some are done with horse-drawn carriages.

2) Nah.

3) A temporal rift would open up and alter the past. Either that or nothing.

4) No thanks!

5) It’d feel a lot better if it wasn’t just a comic book.

6) I used to when I was younger. I can’t stand it anymore. I can’t even tell if it’s gone bad or not.

7) I think most ponies picked Helios. On the surface, it’s the nice, peaceful choice. If you dive deeper though, all of the choices had perks and drawbacks. From my position now, I’d say New Dark Age is probably the best choice, though I’d never have the heart to go through with it if I was in J.C’s position.

Plus, I love that ending. It always gave me goosebumps.

image

1) Oh, no. Not really a fan; I just played Enemy Unknown. Good game. Still don’t like that whole “Oh, your character died; forever” thing. I would have rather had like a permanent debuff to the character instead of death, such to the point that if it happens enough the character eventually becomes useless. That way you could still use the character while training a replacement.

2) I want a pony.

That’s the-… That’s the human thing, right? A child asking for a pony?

Please don’t get me anything. I can’t afford to get you anything back, but I’d feel bad if you got me something and I didn’t get you anything.

3) I suppose I misspoke. Maybe I was less of a slave and more of a prisoner? I dunno; semantics. I wasn’t used by just one pony, though.

4) Did you know that XCOM remake was made in Equestria? They changed so much stuff when they brought it over to you guys.

5) You know, say what you want, but Sombra was the only villain to threaten Equestria in recent memory that didn’t trip over his own plan.

6) Bon-Bon is my roommate. She is most certainly not along for the ride. Sorry, no ménage à trois here.

7) … Uh… Um…

Oh, it’s a stuffed animal with pockets.

Plenty, I’m sure.

image

1) Hadn’t heard about it. Sounds alright, but I’m not ecstatic over the idea or anything.

2) Can’t say I do.

3) I prefer the more arcade-y feeling games. There’s just something magical about holding out a riot shield and getting hammered by a helicopter’s turret fire for a solid 10 seconds, before they give up and you start shooting at them to get their attention again, and then repeat. Also, double flare gun from Future Perfect will never have an equal.

But, ah… The closet thing to a modern military shooter I’ve played even remotely recently was Blacklight: Retribution. Not exactly the same thing.

4) You know, I have heard rumors trickling down. Nothing super significant, but there are talks.

5) You can’t place a price on mental health, especially not on the possibility of all that work and trauma resulting in something significant.

6) I thought you said you read through all of them.

image

You’re not a very good liar.

1) You gotta laugh at having a luck of 1. Not sure I deserve such high strength and endurance stats, though.

2) Wouldn’t the pun be Neighgerian? Though I guess that looks sort of goofy. Whatever.

3) Can’t argue with that. Hey, Krastos! You seein’ this?!

4) What? Why didn’t you give me Revive? I could have had him back up on his paws and layin’ into aliens in seconds! It was the part right before the end with the Sectopods, though, wasn’t it? One of my heavies got a critical hit to the face at that part. He survived but he was really hurt. Last boss was a little underwhelming, though, wasn’t it? I would have taken him out with just one sniper if I hadn’t accidentally shot the wrong target on his second shot from Double Tap. Still ended up dropping ‘em before it ever got a chance to act.

Nice game, but despite the time invested it still felt short. Thanks for sharing, though!

5) Why would I be?

image

1) Dude, I have no idea. There are no schools in Equestria that are specifically for griffons. I’ve never taught at one, I’ve never been to one, so I have no idea what to compare to.

2) Not that I know of. I mean, it’s possible and I just don’t know they’re from here.

In fact, only one I can think of off the top of my head is this country band that plays at this one restaurant every Tuesday, but I’ve never been while they’re performing.

3) If you were comparing a shotgun to the arm vs. death, you might have a legitimate argument. There would almost certainly be residual effects to the non-lethal attacks compared to them not happening. But against being killed? No. No question. If you’re talking about reaction time being lowered by even a full second, that’s compared to it being lowered by… forever!

4) A legitimate position, but where’s the proof that the cameras came before the following?

5) I’ll take my chances.

6) Bleh! No! … I mean… No.

image

1) York! Hi! It’s good to hear from you! You should definitely come! It’d be nice to see you again!

2) Kinda weak. And loud.

3) Happy Bom Day! Sorry I’m a day or two late. Great song!

What’s Bom Day?

4) I’m working on a piece. I haven’t had a lot of free time since my computer got fixed, so I’m not sure if it’ll get done in time. Little behind schedule, but it’s coming out alright so far!

5) I just use it to talk to ponies.

6) Let’s see. It’s been a while but that would be five frags without getting killed yourself, right? I’ve done that a few times in various FPS games.

7) I have no reason to believe that I would survive whatever could cause something like that.

image

1) Musically, I’m trying to work on a mixture of TiK ToK and Gangnam Style. They aren’t worth just covering because I’d never be able to match the studio quality. But if I mixed them together it would be something more unique! The transitions seem to work in my head, but I want better sound quality on the drums. Trying to do some research on how to acquire that.

Last week I finished playing through the original Front Mission patched into Equestrian. It was interesting to see the mechanics present back then and mentally compare them to 3 and 4. Specifically, I really liked the idea of the supply truck vs the repair backpack found in 4 and on. I’d like to play 2 and 5, but I’m not that good at roms with settings to adjust.

2) I Burned My Dread.

3) Bite me.

4) Lon Lon Ranch, or were you being a Resident Evil 2 zombie?

5) I thought I already was.

6) If a tree falls in a forest and nopony is around, will anypony look for your body?

7) You’re suggesting I show Sweetie Belle, the filly, a R rated horror movie. Not even a scary or suspenseful movie, a horror movie.

No, I don’t believe that’s a good idea, sir.

8) Good evening, Spi-… Oh. Well, Good evening, little dragon!

image

1) RUN SNAKE! SHE’S HOPPED UP ON MAGIC AND FRIENDSHIP!

2) Only ever played GTA3, San Andreas, and GTA4. Saints Row looked cool, but I never played it. I guess GTA4 was good enough that I bothered to finish it, but I had a lot of fun passing the controller around with GTA3. I remember that filly being pretty good for being so young.

3 & 4) I guess so. I mean, I don’t really watch movies much.

Never livestreamed anything before, though.

5) I had a number of Heroes, Villains, Vigilantes, and Rogues. It’s just the nature of the game and conflict in general. In my mind though, the main character of my little corner of the world was a Hero.

6) I’m pretty sure you mean this pony, this one, or this one.

7) Neil Patrick- Ugh… Why can’t my spirit animal ever be voiced by somepony cool like Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, or Bill Murray?

I’m good though, Mister Harris. Thanks for asking!

I feel sick and I’m steadily developing a headache. I saw this message and went to the website to check, thinking it was just a troll message. I literally found out ten minutes ago.

I started playing with Issue 6. It’s been a part of my life, however large or small, for a long while now. When I first started, Masterminds only had four primaries. Villains could only get to level 40. There were no allied zones, no inventions, no alignment system, and certainly no incarnate endgame. I had all these ideas and plans for the future. Alts I wanted to make, stories for them, inter-character dynamics between existing characters. And that’s all pretty much just up in smoke now- it was for sets that haven’t been introduced yet.

The game never reached any semblance of an ending. It at least had a climax with the Preatorian War ending. But there was still the Battalion and Coming Storm, which was supposed to be Issue 25- the very next one. The notion that the Well of Furies was actually evil; basically the source of all superpowered conflict in the multiverse. Ouroboros was supposed to be destroyed at some point, dealing a huge blow to time travel. Things were marching toward not just an endgame resolution only for something more to be added later, but an end story resolution.

Probably the worst part is how sudden this was. Not just to us but obviously the developers. They were talking about things they wanted to do in the future mere days ago. Everything we’d heard was about how successful the change to Freedom had been. They had to have found out themselves either late last night or just this morning.

I feel a little better after writing about it. But yes; it upsets me. It just sounds like that corporate-style “you’re doing okay, but not well enough” sweep-out-the-door. And the further the video game industry goes, the more often that seems to happen.

This needs to be on my page.
