Unfortunately, I can’t find the source, but that’s beside the point.
Let me tell you all a little story.The year was 2011. September. Tumblrpon was still fairly small, and I was still Polkadots. In my initial searchings, I came across Ask Lyra, who was and still is one of the best roleplayers in the fandom. Back then, what I thought I would do in Tumblrpon was to toss pictures I found at roleplayers/drawblogs of their respective characters, to see how they respond. So, I took this picture and tossed it at her, thinking a funny response involving botched haircuts would come back. Instead, I got something along these lines:
“Nothing, because this never happened. I would never let Derpy near my hair with anything that sharp.”
In that, I learnt one property of the ‘multiverse’ that we’ve set up: It is entirely up to the mod of a RPr/drawblog if something applies to that character. This is true for canon (to a degree), fanon, and imagery.
Via that, I realized that the reason I gave myself for interacting with Tumblrpon wouldn’t work, so I would have to come up with something else. I decided that if I couldn’t easily get reactions from the characters, I would just have to target my fellow audience!
So, in short, comment on reblogs! Say your thoughts, your feelings, everything! I might not be able to read them all, but reading them is what I enjoy most about what I do here in Tumblrpon. In doing so, I feel glad to have evoked that feeling in you. I feel like I have a purpose here, and that in continuing to do what I do I have a positive impact on Tumblrpon.
