Darling I’m afraid you’re thinking of the wrong sort of “Boxing Day”…
The sweet science.

1) Yes, but strictly amateur; I’ve never entered a real match. I don’t want to get hurt. I got into it as a form of self-defense. My training was mostly shadowboxing, instruction, and then sparring. We didn’t go to a gym or anything, so we didn’t have much, like, equipment.
Basically, I was taught by one pegasus. Sparred with others, but he created the foundation. And who was this stallion, you ask? Well…
2) I’ve tried, but I can never find anything I want or can afford. I went to the Trader’s Exchange with Bon-Bon, but I didn’t bring anything. She got a hat. I sound more like this (which I first thought was a filly singing, but explains why I’ve been told I sound like a colt).
3) Electric again, huh? I wonder if I have the same three pokemon in there as last time. Once I can, I’ll tell you what yours is and which pokemon are in there. Also, I’m pretty sure there are less expensive ways of getting a Slurpuff.
4) In the original, Yoshi at first, then Kirby. In Melee, I used a lot of Falco, Roy and Mewtwo. I didn’t play Brawl much, but I think maybe Link more than the rest. I wish there had been a mode where you could use the stickers from Subspace in a regular fight. I was kinda disappointed.
5) Watch yourself or you’ll have to pay the troll toll.
6) Hmm… Very realistic. But I think that’s a drawing.

Look! It’s me! Boxing Lyra!
I made this battle pose to go with this music track as part of my one year tumblrversary!
I didn’t get to bed till 5 in the morning because I was working on this drawing. I know it’s not that great, but I’m pretty proud of it! I only had a picture of a human boxer to reference the pose, so I did the best I could with my mind’s eye.
Yes, the animation is weak, but it just didn’t look right as a single frame. Boxers don’t stand still!
As I’m sitting here typing this up. The thought occurred to me that it sort of looks like a pokemon sprite. What do you think (question mark)?
It’s not common for ponies, no.
Typically it’d take a unicorn’s magic to maintain the balance and speed necessary to match a Griffon. But if it’s a unicorn fighting, usually they’d be throwing around magic spells at a distance. Plus, unicorns aren’t exactly renounced for their physical prowess. Takes yet another spell to give them the kind of strength to stand up against what an earth or pegusus pony would be capable of. Which means being effective in two specific fields of magic.
Pegesus can box effectively, but typically their style of combat involves a lot of dives and grabs to throw their opponent off balance.
