The very first post on asklyra is this sketch (left), credited to http://tenchisamoshi.deviantart.com/, although she doesn’t seem to have that sketch on her DA anymore. In any case, I thought I’d try coloring it (right).
I still have no idea what I’m doing with shading but I thought this came out a little better, more smooth and natural blending? I hope?

Sparked from when I told Miss Lyra to make a big smile a few days ago. Mind you, I wouldn’t actually try this, as she would easily kick my tail halfway to Canterlot if I suddenly came up to her and started pulling on her face.
I don’t think we’re even in the same dimension or universe or whatever you want to call it. The ponynet is strange.
I suppose one could call this a gift for you, Miss Lyra. I just mainly just having fun. And your tail is strangely fun to draw.
