1) It can pretty much be summed up as-

Which I’m allowed to joke about, because I used to be one of those no items/Final Destination pricks. And without even knowing it was a thing!

2) Lyra: Uh…

Bon-Bon: To be clear, you’re the one wearing the suit, right?

3) I’m sure you realize I’m not eating any of that. But I’ll at least take a look at the book.

4) I… I don’t understand. There are places in your world that… don’t?

That doesn’t… That’s like foalnapping an entire country. How can you stop somepony from leaving?

That’s… That’s horrible…

1) Thanks! And hold on, let me dust this answer off.

Poof. There you go! In all its terribly drawn majesty!

And as always, favorite song post! Come on everypony; sing along! You know this one!

Just a small town gi~rl! Liven in a lo~nely wo~rld! She took the midnight train goin’ a~ny~whe~re!

2) Bon-Bon: Seems like a semi-popular subject to explore. This one caught my interest because it takes more of a cultural look at the experience. It’s told by several ponies from what they know about title character. I’m a little ways in and we still haven’t heard from anypony that’s actually seen it.

3) Well… If I was told this is where I’d be five years ago I could have believed it. But to just think it up myself? No.

4) Nope.

5) I love hugs! Everypony knows that!

6) Sadly, Bon-Bon seems to be the more adventure equip of us two. Sorry. But you’ve been doing pretty well with rocks. Maybe you can make a helmet out of rocks!

image1) I haven’t. In fact, I never have. Not even back in Red/Blue/Yellow. Catching all of the Pokemon has never really interested me that much. But with the addition of critical captures, I’m enjoying a few easy catches since I have so many already. Gives more incentive to catch instead of defeat in order to raise the odds.

2) I know, but it was so well received! I just kept making calls and scheduling appointments. And everypony was so receptive!

3) Haha. Turns out Bbz was talking about something else. But I’m glad you remember! And I saw you followed it too!

There’s a number of concepts in place to try and balance the various methods of combat. Since I’ll need to make a post about it eventually, the short version is that while magic, by design, has the widest range of effects possible, each individual spell has to have additional points applied to it (after unlocking) to make it stronger (which in turn increases its cost, if you want to use the stronger version). So you can either have a bunch of different spells, or have a much smaller pool of spells that you’re actually good at.

On the other hoof, while there are much fewer individual physical attacks, while applying points to make them stronger too, you can also augment them to have additional effects that you can turn on or off depending on how much stamina you use. So, in addition to the armor insert effect applied to all of your physical attacks, you can add a knockback, add additional intimation damage, turn it into a multi-hit cleave, or all three at once if the situation calls.

4) Bon-Bon: Well, I could certainly put the attention to better use. I run a business, after all.

Lyra: But no. Fewer bizarre messages. Fewer messages period, really.

Bon-Bon: I haven’t really been paying attention to movies. I have a bunch of books I’ve been collecting during the busy season. Finally getting around to reading them! Reading one right now about a pony that was raised by timberwolves.

1) Bon-Bon: And if I was, I bet Lyra would still find a way to make it about her. If I was- uh-

Lyra: Optimus Prime.

Bon-Bon: Yeah! Optimus Prime! Then she’d be-

Lyra: A [omitted].

Bon-Bon: A dou-…

Lyra: Oh sorry, Shia LaBeouf.

2) Oh my gosh! How do you even remember that?! I haven’t mentioned that on here in like a year! Still working it on, by the way! Not terribly fast, but it’s goin’!

3) Double oh my gosh! Somepony mentioning something sort-of major that happened recently! I got paid for judging on that panel, you know.

image

1) Lyra: No, I’m not okay now. Simple pulled me too hard during a walk and now my knee hurts more than before. And Bon-Bon still doesn’t believe me.

Bon-Bon: I stay by your side when you actually need me. You don’t need me right now.

2) And that’s fine! Everything is fine!

3) Bon-Bon: I wouldn’t put it past Ms. Center-of-Attention.

Lyra: I deny everything.

4) … Uh… I’d kinda have to know what is being argued for and against. I mean, I’m aware of the show’s existence, but that’s as far as my knowledge goes.

image

1) Congratulations! I still owe quite a sum. I’d probably be paid off by now if not for that one semester at a university.

2) Great! Can’t wait! Just let me know what time or message me when you’re around!

3) I had but I hadn’t looked it up until I got this message. It looks pretty cool! Not so sure about starting at level 50, though. When WoW did that with Death Knights the level cap was 70. It’s still only 60 in Tera.

Also, super lazy developers for making it exclusive to Mithra- I mean Elin. No excuse for that.

4) Bon-Bon: Lyra conveniently hurt her leg by… how was it again?

Lyra: Sitting. Sitting with my leg bent too long.

Bon-Bon: Which is evidently a thing that can happen.

Lyra: I can taste the sarcasm in the air. It really did and still does hurt!

Bon-Bon: But only when you bend it.

Lyra: Only when I bend it more than a forty-five degree angle.

Bon-Bon: Right. Right. But as for me, I just helped out where needed.

image

1) Ah yes Mawile. Huge Power on it’s Mega Form turning it into the strongest physical attacker in the game. Can have some significant gains from egg moves too.

2) Hmm… Nope. Just beat One-Way Heroics by defeating The Darkness on Inhumane Odyssey with Maniac Mode on, the highest difficulty. Other than that, nothin’.

3) Bon-Bon: Ugh, I wish she’d have been so civil.

Lyra: Oh! That reminded me of that one Rugrat’s episode! “DRINK ME!

Bon-Bon: I’ll turn him into a flea!
Lyra: And I’ll put that flea inside a box!
Bon-Bon: And I’ll put that box inside another box!
Lyra: And then I’ll mail that box to myself-!
Bon-Bon: And when it arrives-!
Lyra: I’LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!

Holy moley! Can you break that up next time into a few different asks? That’s a lot of stuff!

1) In Tera? Sorry I don’t know much about that. The stuff I would have bought in that was so ludicrously expensive I never spent the money.

2) Lyra: Oh… My Celestia. They-

Bon-Bon: Now hold your horses, Betty Brown. My father loved you. He thought you were funny, and smart, and witty-

Lyra: And your girlfriend. He only cared about me because he though I was your girlfriend.

Bon-Bon: Well- Who’s fault is it that you aren’t?

Lyra: I… ech- Ugh!

3) Oh. No. It’s a calculation that ponies who work in competitive fields created that places a value on the various stats of a Pokemon. They sort of explain it here. I never took the time to understand it myself. But when planing out a team, I aim for Pokemon that, in their final form (or only form) have around 475 or higher base stat total.

Like you mentioned, Shuckle can have some incredibly high defense/special defense, but its base value in those fields is really only 230 each. However, with everything else added together, that’s more than enough to push it to a 505 total.

4) Hey, as far as I’m concerned, when you’re playing by yourself you should be free to play the game you spent money on however you want. As long as you had fun, that’s what’s important! And that sounded like fun!

5) I take it Vivillon rounded out that number.

6) Oh! Ha! Glad that didn’t upset you after all! And yes, abysmal, not abyssal. It was kinda late at the time.

image

1) Bon-Bon: Oh it was fine. Despite anything Lyra might say. It’s not like they even stayed here at night.

2) Lyra: Weather has been pretty nice lately, same as you. And from what I’ve heard it’s about to be not-so-nice, same as you. I wonder if there’s a correlation.

Bon-Bon: I guess it did impact sales. Didn’t really think about it when it was going on. When stocking up on the necessities, candy isn’t really high on the list. Probably why there was so much left over.

3) How about Friday? If that’s too soon Tuesday would be fine too.

4) S-sorry, Grey. I didn’t mean to upset you.

Doug was pretty cool! I think that was the first show where I liked the side characters more than the main character.

5) You know what surprised me? I saw most of The Croods during a sort-of school party for the foals and it wound up being pretty good! Somehow. I mean, from the commercials it looked abyssal! But there was no unnecessary villain wasting screentime and as a result you got to know the characters well and they all had a lot of heart.

image

1) Bon-Bon: It’s just nice to be able to cook what I want. Even things that aren’t candy!

2) Oh yeah. There aren’t that many new Pokemon, but there’s more in this game than any other.

Generally you specialize in two stats to max them out, then put the last few points in a third stat. But which stats depends on the Pokemon, the moves, the ability, and the strategy.

Unless you meant tips on the super training mini-game itself. Though the different soccer icons mean different things, I’ve found the best strategy overall is to fire three or four times, then do a charge shot while your energy (the little colored circle) is building back up.

image

1) Yeah… If City of Heroes was still around it wouldn’t matter what level either of us were. That was a great hang-out game.

To be honest, it might be easier for you to keep going until you hit around 40 or so and I just switch to my Warrior. If you can, that is. I can still try to catch up, but I’m sort of dividing my time right now.

2) Bon-Bon: Ah-ha. I find that a little hard to swallow.

Bon-Bon: But yes, busy season is over. Just about finished cleaning up the leftover Hearts and Hooves stock. It’s so unpredictable. You stock up heavy on one thing because it sold out early last year, and you wind up with more left over than if you’d got the same amount as before. Meanwhile something that almost never sells explodes and I’m struggling to keep up before February even starts!

1) Thanks! And I love my background! It was made by a filly named Applebloom quite a while ago! She was gone for a while but lately there’s been some suspicious numbers popping up on her tumblr page!

2) Oh it’s a huge game changer! I managed to beat the regular singles battle sequence in the Battle Mansion in one try and almost using only one Pokemon! I like a lot of different Pokemon too. That’s why I wanted to play through the game three times! So I can use different teams!

Yep. Pretty much gone now. I can’t even imagine two feet of snow! I’ve never seen that much!

3) Bon-Bon: Nah. Forcing your eye to stay open while you shove a piece of plastic in there isn’t so bad. It’s when something else gets in there that you want to tear your eyes out. But hey! Glasses that tint in sunlight sound pretty snazzy!

4) Thanks! That’d be great! Bearing in mind we’d probably have to trade like ten times, and then trade back. But I can search around X and find all the version exclusives for you to keep if you want!

Also, if no one told you yet, your Pokemon Safari is Ghost-type. You’ve got Phantump and Shuppet. I can’t tell what your third is because we haven’t been on at the same time.

Edit: Oh, one big thing. Before I start over I want to get my hooves on a Protean Froakie/Frogadier. And that might take a while.

image

1) Bon-Bon: Well, thank you but they always got in the way.

B: Hate to break this to you, but somepony already tried the whole puppy thing. Doomed to failure from the start, of course. But as far as ludicrous conquest plans go, it wound up being quite threatening. Before it was all over they completely took over Hoofington; and the population there didn’t even know it.

2) Yes. In fact, there’s quite a few ponies that look nearly identical to one another. Strange phenomenon that has something to do with near-perfect genetic match-ups going back to common ancestors.

I was at the royal wedding. But during the attack I spent most of my time running around the streets trying to get ponies to safety. She told me about it after the fact, but Professor Lyra (inactive) was mind-controlled.

Older followers might remember that Professor Lyra was the one that gave Krastos his present home in Ponyville, after she moved to Canterlot.

image1) Sorry. Force of habit; what with Bon-Bon’s hyphen.

But no, seriously. Who looks at their newborn and says “Oh what a sexy baby. We should give him a name to accent his sexiness.”

That’s like, awful, unfortunate, and creepy all at once.

2) Bon-Bon: Hello, dear.

3) Pretty wild. I mean, when you hear somepony go by the title “super duper party pony” you just think, “Yeah right, dude.” But that colt has got some connections to pull off the craziness he does. That birth-iversary was jumpin’ on into the sunrise. I don’t know that Princess Cadance’s wedding had as much going on. And that had a sizable budget!

Mad props to both Cheese and Pinkie.

did you know this.

Lyra: Used to be?

Bon-Bon: Uh huh huh huh huh. I wear contacts now, big whoop.

Lyra: Not sure where you got this, but the three of us were talking and I know the Lyra that’s in that picture behind Bon-Bon. We even hung out for a bit during Rainbow Dash’s Birth-iversary!

As an aside, ponies look at you funny when you’re standing next to somepony that looks just like you.
