*snerk* There are many puzzle games, true. Portal is one of my favorite from the genre because of the fact that you can get trough the game on so many ways, that designers didn't think of it. either by exploiting it's glitches or just run trough the map in some really weird way. But I digress. On the other hand; I hear that the Pony revolution is awesome. I don't have the money to buy it yet, tho. Also; Hard Reset is a decent game as well. I don't know, if I could get into Rage, tho.
The point of this conversation, at least from my perspective, is to point to the underlying puzzle-ness that all games possess.
Games like Portal are just more heavily structured in precision and clairvoyance problem solving while something like Timesplitters is more involved in timing and accuracy. In the end, it’s still a matter of hitting that button, moving that way, and doing the thing.
