That’s actually sort of complicated.
All of my lyres only have seven strings; C through B (That’s C though G, then A and B on the end). Overall, while I can go up to two per lyre, I’d rather only do one.
The complicated part is that if the piece is more complex, I’d sooner play using two lyres at once (though generally only one pick each). It gets sort of confusing if I try to manipulate the sound of a string beyond just sharps and flats. This means that playing treble and bass on one lyre is really, really hard. At most, I can use four picks across two lyres, but I’ll likely mess up in the process multiple times.
Remember that what you hear uploaded are recordings; they aren’t live, and are overlapped and spliced together from multiple attempts. That’s why this wedding thing is such a bigger deal despite how simple the piece is. This will be live.
