That’s something to ask a composer. I just play the music. But if it sounds good, I’m alright with it.

Grunge and jazz are fun genres because you can do all sorts of craziness with note sequence and it still sound good!

The scale depends on the piece. If I’m just messing around I’ll be at C major.
