Twilight: According to this you work some… sixty hours a week!

Bon-Bon: No, I’m in the shop sixty hours a week. I work much more than that once I’m home. Especially during the busier half of the year.

Lyra: It’s not like you’re really working that entire time.

Bon-Bon: Oh, you mean like you’re not really working when you’re sitting in your little stall doing nothing most of the time? And for half the hours?

Lyra: I am-!

Twilight: Sto~p! This is super important! Bon-Bon, you can not possibly work this much! That’s not healthy! Applejack doesn’t work as much as you do! It’s causing you to expect more out of others than they can reasonably offer!

Bon-Bon: I don’t exactly have a choice here. If I don’t get my orders done, no pony else is going to. And no pony is going to work as an intern making candy. There’s too few applications.

Twilight: Have you considered apprenticeship?

Bon-Bon: I can’t afford to pay them. If I could, I’d just hire a regular employee… Aaaand you’re smiling.

Twilight: Yes! I think I can help you! You need somepony to help you fill your orders, and the Equestrian government wants more skilled artisans to train the next generation of artisans!

Bon-Bon: Y-You’re kidding! The government will pay me to teach ponies how to make candy?!

Twilight: Yes! Well, almost. You have to be more than just a candy maker. You have to be both a skilled artisan and capable of teaching others. The treats can’t just taste good, they can’t just look good, somepony else has to be able to make them due to your tutelage. Can you do that?

Bon-Bon: I- I don’t know…

Twilight: I can offer you a subject- she lives right here in Ponyville and she already knows the basics. You’ll have to pay her yourself for the first year. But, if at the end of that year you’ve proven your worth as a mentor, the government can completely reimburse you.

Bon-Bon: I… I can’t… I can’t afford that. Not even for a year…

Lyra: I can.

Bon-Bon: Lyra…?

Lyra: I might not be making much more now than I was as an aid, but I can work all through summer break. I’ll end up making a lot more next year than I’ve made this year. I can pay for them.

Bon-Bon: You’d do that for me?

Lyra: Of course, Bon-Bon. I have confidence in you! I know you can do this! And even if it doesn’t work, I still say it’s worth a try!

Twilight: Well? What do you say?

Bon-Bon: I… Yes. Yes, I’ll do it!

Lyra: Alright, Bon-Bon!

Twilight: This is great! And I can already see the bond between you two returning!

Lyra: To a brighter future!

Bon-Bon: To a clearer future!

Twilight: To friendship!
