No, the expression is the other way around. Sometimes life experiences teach you differently.

I lost somebody once, it was the only time I ever did, and I've been cursing myself ever since. Even now I keep thinking back on how I was the problem, how I could have changed and maybe I wouldn't live with regret everyday. In the end I can only try to move on and better myself so that one day somebody would actually like m.

I’ll be fine. I always am.

Life does that sometimes. Sometimes you find somebody who's completely perfect on the outside, but you find their true personality later on. Sometimes the opposite happens. Personally, I've never been in a relationship, but I've felt that way too, I mean moving around doesn't give you lots of relationships to hold on to, and things fade away. The only thing we can really do is try to hold on to those who are dearest to us and try not to hurt them, to consider their feelings, and to hold our own.
