7) They aren’t just skimming some sort of excess love off the surface, if there even is such a thing. They take love. And they take a lot of love. It drains their prey of that which gives us purpose. Even in the most sinister of souls, love is what gives us a natural reason to go on. Even if it’s a love of something wicked.
If you’re asking why they don’t show some sort of restraint and only take a little, I have a theory but no real evidence. The single study I’ve seen defines concentrated love as a substance that throws the subject into a sort of euphoric state. They feel elevated beyond anything they’ve previously experienced and they want more.

((Incase you’ve been around back then, you might know it’s almost a year ago that we as a team worked on Sugarcube Chronicles. I thought a lot lately, and wanted to thank these people. Sure SCC died, but the project at least brought me awesome friends that helped through some really hard times (and made last summer really awesome).

Now, unlike those boring elections in your world, this is actually interesting. For those that don’t know Puerto Rico, which is a territory of your United States, has been flirting with the idea of whether or not they want to try joining the country as an official state. It’s been going on for years. On the same day as your election, there was a proposition put to vote that resulted in a majority expressing interest in joining the union.
By no means does that action alone solidify anything; it’s a complicated process and the majority was narrow. However, your reelected president has gone on record to say that he would support Puerto Rico joining your U.S., if it was the collective will of the Puerto Rican population. The heart of the issue is whether or not it really is the will of the population. There are very real concerns about how the proposition was handled.
Why do I care at all? Even if you look through civilization after civilization, universe after universe, it’s not every day one stable society offers to willingly join another.

Ordinarily, you’d be perfectly fine skipping something like this. I mean, you humans do so much pony stuff. And Team Fortress 2 stuff. You really, really like Team Fortress 2.

Regarding the idea itself, it doesn’t really matter. Now, it’s foolish to live every day of your life like it’s your last, because it will cost you in the future if you do live. It’s more important that you be content with life at any given point. Live for tomorrow, and if it never comes, you won’t miss it.

… A little. If my past ever catches up to me-… I don’t want him to get hurt. There are a lot of unaccounted for ponies and griffons that have every reason to be none too pleased with me. Maybe they’re still after me; maybe they moved on. I’ve no way of knowing.

7) A year ago I’d have been appalled that somepony sent a message like this to a page intended for audiences of all ages. At this point I’m just disappointed you lacked the articulation to formulate an appropriate cause and effect scenario.
