Ask Lyra

Were you alright after that?

No, I obviously died.

It’s not real. Derpy’s a nice pony and I love her to death, but I wouldn’t trust her with sharp objects near my head. Poor depth perception.

therubixcube-deactivated2011090 asked: The names Star Dream. I'm fine thank you. Nice to meet you!

Well, it’s nice to meet you as well!

Do you live here in Ponyville?

diamondmint asked: I'm not sure if it's ever been brought up before, but whats your outlook on having foals? I'm not interested in your love life, that's been gone over quite enough, or your past life, which I know you don't like to talk about. I'm just wondering if you could have a significant other, would you ever consider foals of your own?

Oh… Uh… I don’t…

I mean… I’m not really comfortable with the idea. Especially in my current financial situation.

Even if I did raise a foal, I think I’d rather adopt. I can’t stand the thought of somepony else going through what I went through just because I wanted the foal I raise to share my DNA.

therubixcube-deactivated2011090 asked: Hiya! Hows it going?

Hello! I’m Lyra!

And I’m doing alright, how are you?

rennysama-deactivated20160409 asked: Thanks Fuh All Tuh Likes~
An' What Duh Yuh Think Of My Becomin' A Griffin, Ms. Lyra?

Well, I’m not one to tell somepony to be themselves. But copying Gilda in every way is just as likely to get on Gilda’s nerves as it is to please her.

You have to be a little bit different. Gilda and I are friends, and we’re pretty different breeds of pony, both figuratively and literally.

You’re welcome, though!

Well that makes me feel better too!

Uh, what do you have in mind? Personally, I’m feeling a little spiritual right now.

I… I don’t even know anymore…

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: Well at least thanks for letting me get it off my chest.

Absolutely!

Reblog this if you’re older than 1!

This late commentary has been brought to you by…

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: Yeah, I'm not the best at subtlety. I don't think my kind ever were.

Well, you know how much of my business I consider that to be.

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: You're right I got a little angry there, sorry about that.

I can see you aren’t exactly over her romantically, either.

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: Whoa now you're saying it's either steal from her or bend to her every whim?

I do look after some of the royal books, I know my way around a business.

If I remember rightly I'm on 15%, but at the moment I'm reinvesting it into the merchandise. I'm keeping tracks of what goes where.

Not at all.

You said both were positive. I said they needed to be balanced.

If Gilda trusts you I’m sure you’re doing your best, in a romantic relationship or not.

See, this is why I said it’s none of my business.

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: I don't know I mean if one thing was working against it it might be a problem. But both aspects are working in her best interests.

No.

If the whole operation is making too much money and you’re together, why does whoever get more money? Why does whoever get any of the money, in fact.

You’re together, what difference does it make, right? You can just share it. Until you go to the store and spend too much or open up your wallet and a moth flies out.

Alternately, you bend to Gilda’s every whim and what kind of a man are you? Have you no backbone? No passion?

Judging by your response, you’d end up alone and broke. Not that any of that would be Gilda’s fault, mind you. I’d do the same thing if you let me walk all over you.

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: But you're good friends with Gilda, surely you can believe someone having feelings for her.

But you're right it's been a mixed bag of a week, but I think I'm finding the right balance between my work and my feelings. Though Galaxiour is not making it easy.

Of course! If I were gay I might test the waters with Gilda, if she’d have me. But you’re her manager. You can’t properly manage someone if you have to balance a romance with them. Your every decision would have to be weighted between monetary gain and emotional tension. If either goes too far in one direction, the whole relationship could get shoved out-of-wack.

A managerial position is a high-stakes game. Throwing in another variable is just begging for a bolt to get loosened, so to speak.

Again, not that it’s any of my business, but you asked.

roboshi-deactivated20160514 asked: It's been quite a trip I'll give you that. But I'm enjoying the ride.

Still not sure how you fell in love with her… but I’m hoping that’s at least resolved now.

Romantic tension is never good in a business relationship. Not that it’s any of my business.
