Anonymous asked: You're a gorgeous, insightful, brilliant soul. I love you as a friend. I'm anon because I don't want to offend you. I just thought I needed to remind you of what a great pony you are.
Um… wow.
I sort of wish I knew who you were, but if you think I shouldn’t know, I won’t argue. Thank you none-the-less!
Now if I could just pinpoint where exactly things went wrong with that Kirby piece this would be a great day…
temporarily-deadend-deactivated asked: It's not my fault I'm so sensitive! I..I just can't help it!..
You don’t need to help it! It’s not a bad thing! It’s what makes you you!
I’m sorry ponies are harassing you about it now, though.
If you ponies are listening, leave Carrot Top alone! She’s a lady!
temporarily-deadend-deactivated asked: You would like that, wouldn't you..
You’re just so sensitive!
I’m sorry, it’s endearing in a way! I had to become so callus to survive growing up… And I can’t always control it.
But you’re liable to turn red if someone says ‘erotic’ in a seductive tone!
Edit: It’s just so completely alien to me. I respect you for it, though!
First of all, thank you Tech Spec, Octavia’s Cello, and Proto Pony for being the only three that actually give me some feedback (It’s okay, Gilda. You couldn’t really be subjective here)!
The general consensus seems to be that something was wrong with the pace.
If this doesn’t mesh with what you thought, please let me know. I have another relatively fast paced song planned next, and I really don’t want a repeat of this.
Anonymous asked: Nah, it's a pretty hardy instrument. I don't have anyone of the right ethnicity and experience to tell me what I doing wrong either. I'm just horrible at playing flutes, I imagine. Well, I suppose I'll go ask Octavia, but I hear she only really plays cello. Thanks for the quick response! ~musicssound
Well, worth a try! I imagine she hangs out with more flute players than I.
DJ Pon3 can have a surprising knowledge as well!
Anonymous asked: I recently found myself in possession of a Nepali bansuri, but I'm not having any luck trying to play it. I've always been more of a reed-based woodwind pony myself, and supposedly this thing is played like a flute. Got any tips? ~musicssound
Never heard of it. I bet someone in Canterlot would know!
I did a search and found this. Are you positive it isn’t damaged? They sound fragile.
Message received, don’t do that again.
Can I get an idea of what was so bad about it? Too tangential? Too fast? Sound running together? (Luna forbid) Too unrecognizable?

jmg1234-deactivated20140425 asked: besides, "ripping it up like that" makes you fingers 1.raw 2. full of calus 3. smell weird. ask gilda, (even though i don't like her that much)
Gilda’s a delightful lady when you give her some space! I don’t know why every pony has such a strong stigma against her…
But if I could play like that, it would be with magic, so no danger of that for me. I just can’t focus fast enough to shift my grasp all over the place.
I want to try guitar; Marty gave me one. But I’ll stick with the lyre for now.
jmg1234-deactivated20140425 asked: don't be insecure, i'm sure whatever you post is gonna be danm fine!
Uh… Maybe I’ll just wait a bit. Let all that talent side down the dash for a spell while I get my nerves back.
I’m insecure enough as it is!
Another song for you.
Interesting and tranquil, but not really my style.
jmg1234-deactivated20140425 asked: but remember, "its not how many notes you play, but what you do with the notes you do play", Rick Emmett
That’s true.
But ripping it up like that sure is something!
I’ve seen that percussion technique before, too. I wish I could do that on my lyre.
Now I’m not sure if I want to post this recording or not… all these videos that have been submitted to me are really good…
