Ask Lyra

Aug 22

theblackstrawberry asked: :D yes of course!

Okay! Headed out now!

tundragale-blog asked: Please, Tundra will do just fine, Mortal Lyra.

That reminds me. An alternate version of myself was wondering, is there an Immortal Lyra?

theblackstrawberry asked: Lyra, do you give out hugs?

I like hugs.

Were you ready to come over now? If so I’ll head to the hospital and I can lead you to our house from there.

tundragale-blog asked: Well, if my opinion means anything, I think that all of your music is beautiful. Any god would be pleased to have you play in their court.

You’re too kind, Mister Spirit of Winter.

tundragale-blog asked: Ah, my favorite mortal is back! How are you today, Mortal Lyra?

I’m alright. If only I had had an extra hour last night I could have finished that track… I didn’t know I was so close! Now I feel bad because I only added fifteen measures to the end.

I just looped it and added a really simple, really short outro. It feels like a cop-out to me, but I gotta get back to work on this larger piece(s).

Anonymous asked: Lyra pony, is the best pony, and i love her~

Well now, that’s a nice thing to come back to after finishing up a recording. Thank you!

askprofessorlyra asked: What could this "Mortal Lyra" thing be? Does that imply there is an immortal one running around?

Well now, that would be creepy.

I suppose it’s possible, but that doesn’t sit right with me.

tundragale-blog asked: Very well. *licks her cheek* Bye, Mortal Lyra! *runs off, snow and frost in his wake*

Good night!

At least for somepony out there…

tundragale-blog asked: The sphere reflects the soul of whomever gazes within. If the song is sad, then there must be a great sorrow darkening your heart. Would you like to talk about it?

… No…

It’s really late; I need to go to bed. Thank you for the gift! I’ll see you tomorrow, if you’re around!

Anonymous asked: Is it an easy task to clear the ground?

I wouldn’t know, I was on the animal team.

I assume you’re talking about the song, of course.

tundragale-blog asked: *chuckles* No, Mortal Lyra. Unless you are propositioning something? *winks, then laughs* No, I am offering something far more practical. *He arches his back and howl, and a bead of light, with a dainty, silver chain, forms at his snout* Here we are. This is something that few mortals have received. The music of the spheres. Gaze into the crystal, and you shall be able to hear the muses themselves play their blessed instruments.

I hear something, but it’s faint.

But …

It… sounds sad…

tundragale-blog asked: Because most, though not all, mortals are a fickle, greedy, cruel lot. They see only what they desire, and care not for others. Their greed blinds them to true beauty, such as pours forth froth your divine strings. Mortal, I have a gift I would like to give you, if I may.

No offense, but I’ve read a few ancient myths and legends. I’m not sure I want whatever ‘gift’ you have for me.

You’re not going to make me give birth to your half-god child, are you?

tundragale-blog asked: Mortal Lyra, I have roamed the Celestial plains. I have walked countless worlds for untold centuries. I have heard the greatest musicians in entire universes. I have heard the seraphic music of the spheres. I have heard the muses themselves play. You, Mortal Lyra, are one of the greatest musicians that I have ever met.

That… just can’t be…

If it were true, why can’t I get any work…?

tundragale-blog asked: True, but my poor sister, Autumn is quite tired, so I'm helping prepare for Fall by bringing a chill to the land. So, Mortal Lyra, how long have you played? You are quite skilled.

I’m… really not… But I’ve been getting a lot better lately!

I’ve played since my first year in school, more or less.

sparkyanswers-deactivated201201 asked: Lyra that song was so pretty! I can't wait ta hear it when it's done!

Thank you!

It is coming out spectacularly! Of course, I always have the sheet music to thank for that!

Should be done sometime tomorrow, but I won’t be able to post it until after midnight.
