Ask Lyra

Oct 03

Anonymous asked: Are you sure raising a foal while being in an interspecies relationship is a good idea? I think that'll mess up any foal's mind really bad, and turn them into deviants when they grow up.

Deviants to what, exactly?

If Boscov were a mare, would that suddenly be okay or worse from your viewpoint?

Boscov is smart, calm, mature, and artistic. A foal should be so lucky to grow up around somepony like him.

garyyo asked: yeah i beat the first boss in pony revolution with only gas canisters and exploding barrels laying around the room. thanks for suggesting such a great game lyre pony.

Glad to hear it!

askagentyork-deactivated2012021 asked: In the time it took you to answer that question, the boss killed himself through a ridiculous combination of his grenade spam attack, walls, and physics. It was pretty strange.

It can happen! Bosses are susceptible to their own attacks if you screw with them.

askagentyork-deactivated2012021 asked: I tried to play that new Deus Ex game, and Zach insisted we put every single Praxis Point we get into the hacking augmentations. Now we're stuck at the first boss with little to no ammo, one grenade, and absolutely no combat related augmentations to make the situation any easier. What are our chances of actually winning this fight?

Pretty good, actually! There’s a bunch of ammo and weapons all over the first boss room! It’ll be hard to look around while you’re fighting, but if you can get a good layout of the place, you should be able to win with just what you find laying around alone!

Now, you don’t want to walk into the second boss fight like that. But that will be a while yet.

Anonymous asked: How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

It took me a good long time to go far enough back to find this answer.

Hope you like it!

theblackstrawberry asked: I have a picture in my head... but I keep freaking out and thinking of things like what if I lose all my memories, or what if I grow extra parts, worst of all what if i just die?

Well, I like to look at it this way. If you die, you won’t be around to care that you’re dead.

Don’t worry about it! I’m sure everything will go alright!

I certainly hope so, anyway.

theblackstrawberry asked: Lyra... I'm turning into a colt today.... I haven't stopped shaking this morning...

Just try to relax! Remain calm!

Remember, magic works the best if the subject visualizes the outcome!

Anonymous asked: What's your take on Equestrian politics?

Not really my concern.

Princess Celestia will rule the country until the day I die. No other position is of any consequence to me.

Anonymous asked: Are you a statist?

Statist? You mean a Munchkin? Eh… Kinda.

I’m all for being different; I do it quite a bit myself! However, I always roll with ‘different, but functional’. Like a Minotaur Swordmage; different, but even without trying very hard, functional! I don’t hold other ponies to that standard, though. You play however you feel comfortable and we can all have fun!

Over time, you find what works!

gummy-the-toothless-alligat-blog asked: *Gummy thinks this Gummy is canon-er than other Gummys, so can't speak* (( No, but really, if I were you I'd delete repeat questions. Not that I get any questions :P ))

What it all comes down to, little guy, is a sum of many parts.

Firstly, sometimes things are asked a while back and it’s difficult to choose a cut off point. “Before so many days, you should have looked for the question first.”

Sometimes somepony might just legitimately miss that a question was already answered, even recently. No pony is perfect.

That leads into the subject of content. If it’s an important question, should it take precedent over something like a joke?

Which also leads into jokes. Sometimes a repeated question is done as a joke; just to see the response.

In the end, I just answer what I get. I don’t want any pony to fee left out!

gummy-the-toothless-alligat-blog asked: *Gummy blinks, and wonders why Lyra doesn't just delete the repeated questions. If the anons don't have time to look back a few pages, then Lyra shouldn't have the time to answer them*

I’m wondering why you’re putting asterisks around your disposition. You’re obviously capable of speaking in text, so why not just talk to me?

But, you know, whatever you want to do is fine… [/Fluttershy]

Anonymous asked: do you like... mmmmmmmm... bananas?

Anonymous asked: I profoundly apologise. I hope we can put this behind us.

Apologies with no context are the best apologies.
