Ask Lyra

ask-twi asked: From the reaction, I'll base my assumption, that it's better than you've expected. Also; It looks like you're a bit busy, so I won't distract you...

Eh. It’s about as good as I figured it’d be. But I was expecting it to be pretty good.

I’m actually waiting for dinner right now. Bon-Bon is bringing something home. What’s up?

Ever since my position in Canterlot was discontinued, I hadn’t exactly been making much money. Bon-Bon’s done a little work teaching in the past and she talked to Cheerilee who told me about the very minimal requirements for being a substitute.

Needed a job, so I got one now.

Two churches located across the street from each other. At least the Catholics have a sense of humor.

rainbowdash-answers asked: Ah.. hey Lyra, do you know what's happening with everypony they seem to be in a lot of stress, recently.. How are you doing? <.<..

Ever heard the adage, “when it rains it pours?”

An overarching event will happen that raises stress levels for most, then the added stress causes things to happen that raises stress even more in small pockets.

What caused the overarching event? I couldn’t say. Could be education; midterms for some, finals for others. Could be economic; Occupy Canterlot, election season is coming up at the local level. The whole end-of-the-year time-frame is notorious for being ripe with extra expenditures. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, plus added heating costs.

But enough of that. I’m alright, how are you?

theblackstrawberry asked: I don't know anymore... I just don't know...

I wish I could tell you more. I can only speak from experience.

theblackstrawberry asked: I have a question for you... What do you do when you feel like your life is shattering slowly?

You keep going.

Find something to tether yourself to, something to derive joy from. And if something happens to it, you find something else.

And you keep going.

theblackstrawberry asked: Lyra, how are you today?

I’m alright, I guess. Didn’t have any work today.

Anonymous asked: How are things going with Bon-Bon? Have you two gone on a date recently?

Slightly less favorable than they were before.

I know what you’re implying, but maybe Bon-Bon and I should go out or something. Just to hang out.

Bon-Bon!

Anonymous asked: Hey minty, do you ever polish your lyre?

No. I don’t let it get tarnished.

cheerileetheteacher-blog asked: Evening Lyra! How might you be?

Hello, Cheerilee! I’m fine. How are you?

The most challenging part would be remembering student/teacher names and building layouts/room numbers.
The most rewarding is when you see that spark of recognition in a student’s eye as they come to understand how to solve a problem for the first...
