Ask Lyra

Salut! I hope you enjoyed what you saw!

theblackstrawberry asked: Lyra, I actually spoke with Mr. Krastos. He's a nice bear, and I'm glad your with him, since he loves you and cares about you a lot. I told him to hug you for me, so you should be receiving a daily shipment.

I saw, and I’ll look forward to it.

I’ll see you next year, Strawberry. And remember, I’ll still check this site, just probably not as often while we’re gone.

For now, though, I’m going to see if I can’t sleep through this train ride.

#1 is really interesting. Would you consider yourself a demiromantic of sorts?

No, as that would make me of an asexual orientation.

And being that this is a family friendly page, I can’t really go into any more detail than that or explain why.

You contemplate taking a very Minecraftian approach and digging to safety. But unfortunately, the real world doesn’t function with Minecraft rules. The stone you’re standing on might as well be impenetrable, and the frozen ground outside would take too long to dig through as well. Nevermind the Giant roaming around out there.

You put your gauntlet away and draw your bow and an arrow. Stringing the arrow by biting down on it with your mouth and pulling the string against the handle with one hoof is difficult, and hard to hold steady. At least you can get a decent bead this way and release by unclenching your teeth.

The short bursts of black lightning become more and more frequent until finally you catch the edge of what appears to be the edge of the silhouette of a pony.

You carefully take aim, but before you can fire you feel a painful burning on your right shoulder and cry out in pain; one of the stray arcs must have hit you! The arrow releases and strikes against the ceiling before falling to the ground, broken in half.

The shadow, formerly looking down, raises its head and you catch a glimpse of its face. If it has eyes, you can’t see them. White electricity frantically jumps from the shadow’s eye sockets, the only thing that isn’t completely black. Its mouth opens, but no sound comes out. Instead, the black electrical field surrounding it intensifies dramatically as lightning arcs in every direction and the shadow continues slowly forward.

You place the bow around your neck and rest it on your back again. Holding your shoulder does little to ease the pain, but your instincts won’t allow you to let go. As you search for something to do, your vision flashes, blinding you for a moment. In that brief half-second, the shadow has leaped at least a meter forward! It continues to shamble slowly, but one or two more jumps and it’ll be on top of you!

1. I can’t say that I find anypony to really be physically attractive. It’s less about how you look, and more about how you carry yourself. What expression you wear. Do you walk like every step might be your last, or do you have a confident weight in your stride?

2. Maybe if this was playing in the background, I might consider it.

1) Thanks, Strawberry! Not sure how much use it’ll get, seeing as we have central heating and air again, but thanks none-the-less!

2) That’s the point. The only problem with Boscov moving in is how little room we already have, plus the lack of a dedicated room where he could set up a chemistry lab. Then again, I have no idea what kind of zoning laws there are, or what kind of ventilation a room like that might need.

3) Intelligence has nothing to do with race. I stayed in school as long as I could and, though it may sound stupid, played video games that were thought provoking instead of relying on twitch reaction.

Thank you! I hope the train ride goes well!

1) Then he’d have to move in with me.

You didn’t think this through very well, did you?

2) No. .oN

3) Because this isn’t a fairy tale and you aren’t Goldilocks.

4) I can’t think of any reason why not.

Oh wait. Yeah I can.

No.

  1. You have to understand that most Asperger’s cases are still higher-functioning special ed students. A lot of what I deal with are severely Autistic students that can barely write if at all, can barely hold a conversation if at all, might not be capable of learning their own address, and in one case was completely incapable of making a decision of their own. Asperger’s, even in more challenged cases, can talk, know or are successfully learning basic arithmetic, reading, and writing, can go to the bathroom on their own without needing to be reminded or monitored (unless there are other conditions present). Asperger’s, Cerebral Palsy, and the emotionally disturbed are as close as I get to an average student most of the time. As far as self-diagnosis, the real danger is when you self-diagnosis for something that involves taking a strong medication. Either way, I don’t favor the notion that one with mild disorders (mild being the only way you’re going to self-diagnose before somepony else diagnoses for you) should lean on their disability like a crutch. Don’t just say, “I have this so that’s my excuse.”
  2. If that’s a reference or song lyrics, I don’t recognize them.
  3. Tomorrow.
  4. I’m going to guess that’s part of a bit, since I have no idea why you’d be saying that to me.

  1. Johnny was phone.
  2. No.
  3. Yes. Unlike our CYOA main character, I remembered to pack a toothbrush.
  4. Now that you know, you can start acting like a nice pony!
  5. D'aww. Thanks!
  6. Where you’re the only member.

I might start doing this if I get a bunch of little asks so I don’t spam anypony’s dash.

illipony-blog-blog asked: You're all wrong! Illidan hugs are best hugs, because I don't give any.

That doesn’t sound like a very good hug to me.

A good hug must be accessible without hacks or exploits.

theblackstrawberry asked: Lyra hugs are best hugs. *hug*

A hug by any other mare is just as sweet.

hornuraakemi asked: Did Sweetie Belle and Tootsie enjoy it as well? I'd hope they did.

They seemed to have when they came back today.

Sweetie was a little disappointed that my present for her wasn’t ready yet.

pegasus-cloud-kicker asked: HA, you silly filly! I am not trying to turn you into cheese and I like you when you get angry at me. It's kinda cute! You appear not to deny the "Doggy" style liking, so does that mean you do?

Yeah? Well I don’t like being irritated, believe it or not.

And that means I’m not commenting on it. I get enough ponies asking things that are none of their business.

theblackstrawberry asked: Hmmm... only 5 hugs... WELL! IM GLAD THERE ARE NO TIME LIMITS ON EACH HUG!

Strawberry…

hornuraakemi asked: Mine was pretty great as well. It was finally the first one I could spend as a family and with another pony, so I'd have to say it was my best one so far!

Glad to hear it!
