There’s this awesome little frontier-sounding track that plays when you
ride a horse in the region of Serendia in the game Black Desert Online. And that’s what this post was
supposed to be about. Kinda lost focus and just started talking about the game. That’s all after the break now. The track is what I was trying to highlight.

You’ll be famous!“ Milhouse could feel his face redden, “You really thinks so?“ A hard slap across Milhouse back preceded Nelson’s response, “Are you calling me wrong?!“ Milhouse reached his hands up and nervously adjusted his glasses, “No sir!“ Nelson’s arms relaxed around Milhouse again, “Good. Make me proud. You don’t have to succeed, but it would be better if you did.“

You’re right about the background! And I’ve never even thought about changing it. I love it so much!
in regards to things like morality-alignments like chaotic-good/true neutral/lawful evil how do you determine what counts as lawful, or chaotic, or even good or evil? is it the perspective & intentions of individual being assigned a designation, such that they could be chaotic good while doing evil things if they truly believe that it’s right or is it an assignment solely from the observer’s viewpoint?
lawful follows strict rules e.g. devils are lawful evil due to their adherence to contracts and the like whereas chaotic is more of a “do what you feel” instinctual approach to things
i’d be inclined to say good/evil are from an objective standpoint due to the fact that angels lose their connection to their deity if they commit an evil act even if it’s unintentional or they’ve been tricked into doing so
good and evil also occupy a pretty broad spectrum of acts
a good character will, at least sometimes, go out of their way to help people
an evil character will act in a selfish manner and only do what’s right for them even if it means destroying lives to further their goals
a neutral character will just sort of go with the flow, helping themselves but not at the expense of others
As a strong proponent for “there is no cosmic good and evil” there is one important thing to remember. D&D exists in worlds where gods exist and war against one another, within view of mortals, and empower their followers with fractions of their strength. Good and evil are factions. A character could mean well and still do something evil from the perspective of another. It’s all about whether they act in a way that good supports, or the way evil supports, regardless of what the individual supports. This is further evidenced by the existence of things like chaotic good gods (instead of chaotic meaning the rejection of).
2) And now it’s time for a very special reading of… The Meme That Never Was.
Chapter 1. Milhouse was walking home from school with his friend Bart. “Gosh Bart, those DE-motivational posters you showed me in computer class sure were funny!“ “Yeah,“ Bart replied, “But they’ve kinda gotten stale. I imagine Fluttershy would play a harp, idk why. I think it came out alright.
A~nd, a lot of them are poorly done, or a waste at a cheap joke, or ruined by loud garbage that has never, not even in the height of youtube poops, ever been funny. The real draw to a channel like this is the raw quantity of videos. Good golly!
Hey Professors! So, I saw the ask about the move Toxic earlier, and I was wondering if you had any ideas on the move Protect? Almost every pokemon can use it, and I was going to say it could be a defensive stance that absorbs the blow in most cases, but it is always portrayed as some kind of blue wall. Would it be connected to Aura? What do yall think?
I think you’re definitely on the right track!
Both in the games and in the anime, Protect is depicted as glowing blue energy of some kind that keeps the pokémon safe. The protected pokémon does not feel damage, receive status effects, and so on from being hit. And it is presumably not just a solid wall, so this tells me that the protection, the blue glow, is exceptionally good at absorbing energy.
Capacitors, for example, absorb electric energy. Springs and sponges absorb kinetic (collision) energy, lessening the damage that way. Or perhaps Protect acts more like a Non-Newtonian Fluid (but more like a plasma), which becomes “solid” in the spot that they’re hit, when they’re hit.
So that’s what Protect is. It’s some sort of plasma, which is exceptionally good at absorbing all kinds of energy. The Aura energy, that you mentioned, is described in the pokemon world as “the essence of every living creature”. If Protect is connected to Aura, it would make sense why pokémon have so many diverse types and move. The very living essence of them is able to store all types of energy. It would also make sense why Protect loses its potency after consecutive uses. If the pokémon are using their own life energy to fuel their shield, it’s only natural they get tired.
2) I’d heard the word before. Is it just sped up house/trance? That’s kinda weak.
3) Lyra: I do have a little kickstand up there with my horn, don’t I? By all accounts it should be easy, especially considering how big pony’s heads are. But no, I can’t.
Bon-Bon: I have in the past, and I’m sure I could now, but I’m not going to risk neck injury over it.
I made you and Bon-Bon in the XCOM 2 character pool.
In case you’re unaware, XCOM 2 has a new feature called the character pool, which lets you create characters in advance so that they can show up randomly throughout the campaign. Depending on how you set them to show up, they can be soldiers, scientists, engineers, and even “anti-VIPs” that you have to capture or assassinate in certain missions. It also lets you save characters you create in the main game so they can show up again in future playthroughs.
So far, you’ve appeared as one of my starting soldiers and became a sharpshooter. I admit I’ve done some savescumming to keep you alive. Bon-Bon has yet to to appear.
