Gather ‘round, scribes, as your minstrel takes center stage once more!
Tonight we go way back. Dark ages? Antiquity? How’s prehistory suit you? I’m talking history before history.
Our greatest of ancestors communed in pictures, not word. A bird! A bunny! A bond. Time passed; our messages grew more complex. Safety! Danger! Love.
Day came for a revolution in our evolution! Did it take the form of a cupcake? A sunflower? I say neigh! Sounds from symbols? Symbols form words? A inconceivable brilliance matched only by the light that guides our quills!
Speak her name! A name so magnificent as to match our greatest tool!
Speak her name! Bringer and ender of peace and war both!
Speak her name! Who brought history when there was naught?!
Our first! Our best! Speak her name!!
PEN! PEN! PEN!
We have a job to do, scribes! Without us there would be no Botony! No Gastronomy! Are we going to let a weed or a crock erase our history?!
NEIGH!
Language was our gift of love! We perfected it! And by our Pen we will guide the ignorant from the margin into our body!
Spent about an hour looking for some answers regarding the 3DS versions of Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow before I did anything, so I figured I’d reveal what I found out.
Yes, you can do both the Missingno. and Mew glitches.
But, you cannot currently connect to PokeBank with R/B/Y. No one knows if you’ll be able to transfer anything generated by these glitches over.
You can still get a low level Mew to play around with in R/B/Y, but you might not be able to trade it into PokeBank/future generations.
Game-wise is a little difficult as you kinda have most of the games I’d recommend. At least as far as Steam goes. So if you can [ahem] find some way to acquire them…
Ogre Battle: MotBQ and Ogre Battle: PoLC - Jam-packed with content. We’re talking customizable armies, equipment, classes, unlockable characters, alignment system with consequences (actually makes the game harder if you’re a good guy), multiple endings. A little thick; you’ll probably want to read a little about the game’s mechanics before you start. Both available on VC!
Front Mission 3 - 1, 2, and 4 are alright (I never played 5), but 3 is the most streamlined without limiting your customization tremendously. Plus it has 2 completely different storylines, each a full game’s length. That’s a lot of value!
Dynasty Warriors 3 or 7 - On the surface, a button-masher. At higher difficulties, a very tense action game where you must constantly balance which of your allies to help and when. 8 is very flashy, if you only intend to play it a little bit. But the longer you go, the more you realize how infantile the enemy AI became. 7′s generals could be hard as nails.
Robot Alchemic Drive - Absolutely bananas game. Giant robots. Intentionally bad acting. Unique controls. Here’s a video (Warning: Blood. Kinda). This was the precursor to the EDF series. It’s also one of the only games I beat more than once (I beat this game 3 times!).
As for a show, how about Growing Up Creepie? That was a cool little cartoon about a human girl that was raised by bugs in a mansion and her interaction with ordinary humans while going to school.
I’m embarrassed to say, but I’ve never heard the entire Excalibur album by Grave Digger. Still, I’ve managed to collect 6 tracks from it over the years. Emerald Eyes alone is worth listening to as a slow, metal love song. And Excalibur still has my favorite solo, period.
I was alright through most of the story, even when sad things happened. But I started getting choked up on the last song, when Eliza starts singing. And then… when she mentioned the orphanage… I just completely lost it.
… Thank you @mikedaws0n, for telling me about that performance. I absolutely judged it too soon. That was incredible and… I can’t imagine spending the last 3 hours any other way.
It’s certainly varied. But, while Equestria does have things like broadway, I was and still am a poor mare. I don’t have much experience with it; certainly never seen a high-quality show like that, and only a general knowledge of what musicals performed there sound like.
What I’m trying to say is, it doesn’t really sound noteworthy to me. It sounds professional, to be sure! I’m just not sure why it specifically would be a hit compared to something else. Doesn’t help that I have no context for what they’re talking about.
3) A little disappointing. Though, to be honest, chances are they’ll never have a reason to go back to older games with how popular character customization has become. They should always have more options. And more popular/new games get more attention. They’re just worth more in ad revenue to cover.
4) I guess I’m not as experienced at cyberpunk as I thought. I suppose you’re right about those being standard, but I’ve never really seen them as the focus. Usually more of corporation versus individual/family, or corporation versus law, or even corporation/law versus individual/family. There’s always been a very strong “against the world” tone present, owing to the punk half of the terminology. But I guess there are general tools used to articulate that, present in nearly all examples of the genre.
What’s interesting to me is that no other gem has demonstrated this ability; Peridot even implies that pearls are the only ones who can, as they are are there to “stand around, look pretty, and hold your things for you.”
So clearly, it’s a rare or specialized ability.
2. Every Diamond we have seen thus far ‘owns’ a pearl, and those pearls all seem to share a color scheme with their given Diamond.
(I place ‘owns’ in quotations because, frankly, I don’t believe anyone can be owned by another.)
3.. Pearl seems as though she may have belonged to White Diamond, or alternately, may not have belonged to Rose as previously speculated.
I think that, by now, we’re all very familiar with this theory, but I will reiterate. As you can see from the above images, the Pearls each have their gem in the same spot as their Diamonds do. Pearl does not have a gem on her navel as Rose Quartz did, but she does have on her forehead where White Diamond does.
And this means…..
4. …that there may have been a Pink Pearl who belonged to Pink Diamond, and who is currently missing in action.
So who, and where, is Pink Pearl? Patterns thus far would indicate that she would have a pink color scheme and be able to hide things within herself. She also would have had a very obvious affiliation with Rose Quartz, who either is Pink Diamond or belonged to her court.
Incidentally, one character fits that description perfectly.
Interesting.
One of my favorite things about Steven Universe is when I read stuff like this. Because instead of going “Oh, that’d be cool of it was canon,“ like I would with most shows, I go “Oh! I can’t wait to see that episode!“
2) I haven’t, but without any prior knowledge I’m positive they’ve done Magic Pengel. Tell me I’m wrong.
3) Lyra: I feel I’d be closer to Bunnie.
Tootsie: Can I be Sally?
Lyra: Pfft. You can be Antoine. Tootsie: E~w! Lyra: Oh hush; you’ve never even seen the show.
4) Without further knowledge, I couldn’t say. From what I found on it though, it looks like a point-and-click adventure game. Not my cup of tea. So feel free to spoil it for me to elaborate on “dark”. I’ll censor it if I gotta when I reply.
5) Lyra: Crotch boobs are ridiculous enough. I draw the line at snake boobs.
Tootsie: Boo~bs!
Lyra: Stop making me out to be a bad influence! You know better!
Well, to be fair, you also fight space imperialists, hive-minded space zombies, different hive-minded space zombies, and highly advanced, hyper-adaptive aliens…
Bet you thought I was gonna say in space. Nope. You fight them… ON THE MOO~N!
