1) Not really, at least not anymore. At this point only a few of the tumblrs I follow even post something everyday. At most I’m figuring ten-twenty posts each of like three tumblrs. Everything else is just intermittent. Which is a word that evidently has a T on the end of it. I did not know that.
2) Not a whole lot comes to mind. Around this time last year I was looking forward to Bladestorm: Nightmare, but that turned out to be a horrible port. I never even bought it with the money I had set aside.
I’m looking forward to XCOM 2. Even though the snake-lady thing is… so very stupid. The first one was great and this one is supposed to have much more weight to the choices you make in and out of battle. And with mod support!
The only other game has already come out, I’m just waiting/hoping for it to come to Steam. Earth Defense Force 4.1! I had a mild interest in the first EDF way back when, but this one looks phenomenal!
Can’t think of any upcoming movie that interests me.
Lyra: So… Uh. Did you ever hear anything back about that… um…
Bon-Bon: Hear back about what, Lyra?
Lyra: You know… That government grant?
Bon-Bon: Lyra, why would I hear back about something that doesn’t exist?
Lyra: Ah… Wh-? You…?
Bon-Bon: You know what really bothers me about that, Lyra? It’s not that you lied. I’m honored that you’d devote so much of your income toward my business. You knew I would never ask that of you, but you went out of your way to help me financially. That touches me, Lyra. It’s not even that you tried to keep the truth from me for so long. I mean, it’s not like it mattered. I found out the very next day. But let me ask you something, Lyra. Do you think I’m stupid?
Lyra: No! I was-
Bon-Bon: Did you think I would just take what was given to me at face-value? That I wouldn’t research this grant extensively? This is my business we’re talking about. For lack of a better phrase, this is my life. I wasn’t about to risk some loophole ruining everything. I would have read every clause- talked to lawyers, financial advisers. Maybe I wouldn’t have been able to get an audience with Princess Celestia, but you can bet your flank I would have tried! If anything I’m a little disappointed you didn’t put more effort in to cover your tracks. You’re a very lazy liar.
Lyra: So… You’re not mad?
Bon-Bon: Why would I be? You’ve given me something that few ponies ever have. Trust. That’s not something I take lightly. I feel like we’re really in this together, Lyra. I hope you understand how valuable that is to me.

1) What is this? This isn’t a good, honest, Celestia-fearing pun. This is something foul and disturbing. And probably Bubsy related, though I’m not sure how.
2) But elusive means hard to find, which can be synonymous with a thing or event that is a rarity. Butterscotch would make more sense opposite to Bon-Bon.
3) Every video game example I can think of is dark in some way. Which just tells me writers in that field for less mature audiences are lazy and patronizing.
Children’s cartoons seem to be advancing at least.

I
agree and that’s sort of how Applejack works within the… I don’t
know, concept (Applejack is still Applejack). It’s just that, 4 out of
the 6 follow a pattern. Take name. Change word(s). Not even
change to more masculine/feminine thing, just change. But keep meaning. 5
out of 6 follow it if you’re just keeping the meaning.
But everyone just looked at Butterscotch and said “Yeah that follows the pattern fine.“ No pony ever questioned it?
You know what I never understood? What I’ve been scratching my head on for years?
Why is a male Fluttershy called Butterscotch? It doesn’t make any sense. Fluttershy doesn’t mean anything. It’s just two words stuck together; flutter and shy. Butterscotch is a candy. And if you separate the two words, butter is churned milk and scotch (if you’re not talking about the drink) means to wedge or divide something. The two names, and the words from which they are comprised, have no meaningful relation on any level.
The only logical connection Butterscotch could have would be from the word Butterfly, which has the same number of syllables as Fluttershy. But Butterscotch doesn’t even have the same number of syllables!
Why not something that at least follows the meaning of the words like Quivercoy or Timid Drift? Timiddrift. Timidrift. However you want to spell it!
I’m just saying, Rarity to Elusive. Twilight Sparkle to Dusk Shine. Pinkie Pie to Bubble Berry is a bit of a stretch, but I get the idea. Fluttershy to… Butterscotch?
To clarify on yesterday’s post, being dark isn’t what makes the writing good.
Having round, dynamic characters behaving and speaking in a believable way in a world that respects the rules from which it is constructed is good writing.
Playing Shadowrun Hong Kong: Wow. I forgot what it’s like to play a game with actual writing in it.

We kinda didn’t understand some of the rules. I probably would have won if we did, but Minuette was the only one who had read the directions and she was in a hurry to do so. Lemon Hearts got bored and went to bed because the rules weren’t quite adding up. Minuette won.
Minuette, Twinkleshine and I played Yoshi. Twinkleshine was better than I was at it, but Minuette su~cked. Fortunately, especially on two player mode, the game is super easy so it doesn’t really matter if you die. We all had fun.
Lemon Hearts was always awake first and made us breakfast everyday! And, even though she had to leave early to go back to work, she suggested we all go see Star Wars! Of course, Minuette had already seen it, but she wanted to watch it again in 2D. She said the 2D was better.
Bon-Bon and Lemon Hearts even picked up a controller and played Smash Bros! That was a good laugh!
Bon-Bon was more interested in the stuff around town and organized a gift exchange for our group. I got a candle warmer! She sometimes went off on her own, but as long as she had fun!
Bon-Bon had never seen a Star Wars movie. But she liked the new one too!
Can all the artist-pony askblogs reblog this? Like..if your pony is some sort of artist (musician, painter, sculptor, potter, etc)
Adelaide is a beautiful singer but she actually can’t really read music.
does weddingplanner count? probs not, but I personally see it as art :D
Ember is a musician, and she sings a bit on the side.

Not a drawblog, but I’ve done a few tracks.
Well, this was the last night. Everypony else has gone home and we head back early tomorrow. Have to be home before school lets out for Liza. We had such a good time though! Got to do so much nerd stuff! We played this super hero card game, some new colony came called Catan, Yoshi game, we even got to see the new Star Wars!
We got to eat at a few places, hang out at a few shops, and just generally wonder around Rainbow Falls without all the fanfare of the Trader’s Exchange.
I wish it hadn’t ended so soon, but I’ll remember this trip fondly and it was a nice way to start the new year! See you all soon!
Shhh. It’s still early.
Bon-Bon and I finally took that vacation- we’re in Rainbow Falls! And Minuette, Lemon Hearts, and Twinkleshine are here too! Twilight and Moon Dancer couldn’t make it. Everypony else is still asleep, but we hung out and played board games and had a great time!
Hope everypony had a Happy New Year!
